Solution Overview

Beyond the main arenas of Chinese lacquer there is a group of small but demanding specialist fields: lacquerware awaiting restoration in museums, the finishing shops of hardwood furniture makers, and high-end coffins for the funeral sector. Their volumes are not the largest, but their demands on quality are especially exacting — artefact restoration calls for "minimum intervention", furniture finishing has to withstand years of wear, and coffin work must be dignified and preservative.

The other crafts solution serves these fields at museum-collection grade: first-tapping high-urushiol raw lacquer and low-sensitivity refined lacquer cover both restoration and finishing needs; traditional mineral pigments keep retouched colour fast over time; and our technical team provides support from damage diagnosis through to final sealing. Every batch of lacquer can be traced back to a specific lacquer tree growing area and tapping season.

Demanding fields call for an even more demanding lacquer.
