Public transport: take a Pingli County coach from Ankang Railway Station or Ankang Intercity Bus Station, then change to a rural bus or taxi in the county town.
In tapping season (June–September) you can watch traditional tapping work — "a hundred li and a thousand cuts for one jin of lacquer". Spring and autumn suit hiking in the groves and inspecting lacquer seedlings.
Individual visitors to the exhibition hall need no appointment. Group study tours, tapping experiences and base visits should be booked by phone three days in advance so that we can arrange guides and materials.
For the tapping experience, please wear long sleeves and trousers and non-slip shoes. Those allergic to raw lacquer are advised to observe rather than take part; children must be accompanied by a parent.
